Children, adults, and families in watercolor. Portraits are painted from photographs taken by the artist, not from
life. There is no need for you to sit many times for the artist. At the most, there will be 2 portrait sittings. Usually, there is only one sitting. My portraits are usually painted in watercolor, though I can paint you an oil portrait for an additional fee. Watercolor is the most difficult medium to master, by far. It's also the most beautiful! There are very few good watercolor artists and even fewer good watercolor portrait artists. You will have something totally unique and beautiful. I meet with the portrait subject at least three times, usually more. The first time, to discuss the portrait; where it will be placed; and take photos. The second time, we will discuss the final appearance of the portrait; additional photos will be taken. There may be additional sittings. The final time we meet, the portrait will be presented, unframed and matted in a museum quality off white mat. I will work with you through any problems you may have in meeting me or taking the photograph. Having a portrait done should not be a painful experience; the result should be a portrait expressing how you see yourself and how others see you. I will do everything possible to create a portrait you are overjoyed at having. Prints & Notecards ($15.95 / 10 Notecards) of your finished portrait are available at an additional charge (gifts for grandparents, etc.).
