Sea turtles are some of the most intriguing animals in the vast ocean. They are intelligent, shy, but friendly, and disappear for years of their lives. We have no idea where they mature or where they go after they leave after nesting. They are huge, large beyond belief when you're right next to one in the water. But they still manage to be charmingly cute at that size. We know next to nothing about sea turtles, but we love them. I painted this in many layers to emphasize the enormous depths of the ocean beyond the turtle. The turtle is captured hovering in the vast space for just a moment.
